One of the things that have changed in my life in the last few years is that I care so much less about the things I used to care about.

You find my thoughts on nostalgia, and post grief ramblings on my weekly letter but one big surprise has been how much disconnected I am from the person I used to be.

Not only the woman I used to be before my big loss, but the women I became along the way.

I have become disconnected from the new selves I acquired.

I did believe that the changes and the new identities would slow down.

Or even stop for some time. But they continue on. And why I wrote this week’s letter about making the right choices. Sometimes, we can

change internally but forget to update the

choices externally.

We end up living in an outdated life, or the life of the old self or selves. That is a very painful experience.

I have to tell you that my life today feels more real than ever before. I make decisions based on what I want and when I can’t make these types of decisions because of an older self choice that owns a big part of my life it really is hard.

There are dreams that I made come true during my prior selves that have a long term life cycle and they are hard to interrupt. I am learning to live with those. The best way I can.

Hopefully one day we will all dare enough to completely cut off some of the old selves from our current lives.

Well, its Friday and my current self has learned to take the weekends off so I look forward to not working.

I hope you find a way to say yes to the person you are today and find the courage to let go of what is no longer true for you, and that should be our only goal. Especially after a tough loss.
